Our Programs & Classes

Students and enthusiasts of Taekwondo have many reasons for their interest in this and other martial art styles. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense.

Whether you are interested in our programs for mental or physical well being, Southern Maryland Martial Arts offers a number of programs that will fit your developmental needs and your busy schedule as well.

Karate Kats (Ages 3 and 4)
A class specifically designed for the younger students! This class meets every Saturday morning from 9:30am to 10:00am. Our award winning program focuses on basic martial arts skills, listening and learning skills, and teaching life skills such as: Discipline, Focus, and Social Interation with other children and adults.

Little Dragons (Ages 5 and 6)
Designed to meet the needs of 5 and 6 year olds, our Little Dragons program is the perfect way to get your child involved in a healthy and beneficial activity. Students attend a 30 minute class 2-3 times per week and learn valuable skills such as

Taekwondo (Ages 7 and up)
Classes are separated by Age and Belt rank. Students attend a 45 minute class 2-3 times per week. Ages 7-13 are in the Junior program, ages 14 & up attend Adult classes. Taekwondo is an excellent physical workout which also includes several benefits such as discipline, focus, respect and self-defense skills. Many students experience increased confidence and show improvement in many areas of life after training in Taekwondo.

Cardio Kickboxing
Cardio Kickboxing is a great, fun way to stay in shape. The high energy and invigorating workout is designed not only to improve muscle tone and lose body fat, but also to release stress, tension, and frustration. Classes are held 2 times a week at the Bryans Road Location. Class times are as follows: Tuesday and Thursday 7:45 - 8:30 pm. Try out a class for free!!!
